It will surprise no one that I'm running behind. :look
Take this week off, and I'll get the chapters posted this week. I also plan on getting the breakdown of all the remaining books so the end of a book won't surprise me.

I haven't started at this book yet, but will perhaps read some this weekend if I find enough time. Have other books to read as well.

I guess I'll go read The Purloined Poodle (Oberon's Meaty Mysteries) and finish reading about Alcatraz and his family. :lol

Yeeeeees Oberon. 100% recommend Iron Druid to anyone who needs a fun palate cleanser. :D (Oberon is the dog. Just for clarity.)

Re: Knife of Dreams re-readalong: Chapters 1-7

    Prologue

Galad – Woo, Galad kills Valda for killing Morgaise which..he didn't. So much for Judgment under the light. Whoops I guess?

Rodel – Meh, nothing really important here. The Rebellion against the Seanchan doesn't really go anywhere.

Suroth – And now we have Suroth betraying the Empress outright and Semirhage has murdered the crap out of the Royal Family of The Seanchan apparently. That is one of the things that really bothers me about the viewings that Avhiendha has of the future later on. Less than two generations after The Dragon Takes over the Seanchan are powerful enough to take on the Aiel, the Black Tower and the other nations of the world when the core of the empire is straight up non existant as of now.

Egwene – Oh poor Elaida, she is so screwed against Egwene. There is nothing that can be done to stop Egwene's ability as a dream walker and that means that being held in the tower isn't particularly effective. The best part of this is that Egwene can sit in class half listening and do that Wise One half asleep in the world of dreams thing that the wise ones did in book 4 I think it was so she can sit in the tower and still give commands if a Sister can be arranged to be in the world of dreams.

    Chapter 1 -

And The Rebels begin to fall apart, it is amazing how much of Sheep Aes Sedai can really be. If they don't have a strong central figure to drag them around they seem to lose almost all direction except for a select few.

    Chapter 2

So Elaida had Mattin kidnapped...When did this happen? In Book 3 we saw Sammel in power in Illian, so he really had to have been taken then. However Elaida was not in power then so I had to happen after that, so how did Aes Sedai get into Illian and kidnap a King from under Sammel's nose like that?

    Chapter 3

    Forsaken management meeting!

    Chapter 4

The seanchan culture is screwed up. “I can't ask my superiors for a tool that will be required to take out an army of Aiel because that would shame me and I would have to kill myself.” That is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard, and Perrin has no real right to give away the banner of Manetheran.

    Chapter 5

I wonder how much of the Aiel's martial force are filled with The Mera'din.

Re: Knife of Dreams re-readalong: Chapters 8-12

Galad killing Valda was the Light's judgement (if you will) for killing Niall and raping Morgase. He deserved the judgment and sentence. ... The prologue was one of the longest ... and it had many important subplots. I like the Black Ajah Hunter's subplot development; I loved how Tsutama (spelling) as highest of the Red Ajah was dealing with her subordinates. They deserve it. But I was wondering why Javindhra was smiling in her cup. Did she enjoy someone irking Elaida and doing something behind her back? Or was it something else?

Lelaine on the other hand was someone I would have sent to Sorilia if I was feeling benevolent, or Therava if vindictive. But Siuan handled it as well as can be. But the danger of the rebellion collapsing was almost non-existent. Egwene held them together and still commanded from inside the White Tower; and the Foresaken wanted to prolong the rebellion to further weaken the Aes Sedai.

Elaida kidnapped at least 2 monarchs. She sent her charges to do that in order to bring the nations under her control. Just one of her many debacles. At her feet lie the death of at least a dozen Aes Sedai and the imprisonment of 50 more. What's kidnapping two puppets compared to that? The kidnapping took place two days before Rand took Illian. So, that would be in book 7 of the series.

The Perrin/Faile arch is for glossing over. Trying to make sense of that or the Seanchan at this point is pretty futile.

I must admit I am a little confused after listening to this book. Who did betray Egwene?

But how on earth did she know? I mean, they barely told the HALL, why tell her?

My guess was that Egwene told her since she was part of the plan. Then, she didn't tell the new novice they chose (forget who it was), since she was worried that the knowledge was what made Nicola run away.

    I hate Nicola. :|

I love Egwene's reaction to Silviana in the prologue when Silviana says she's not hysterical. "Would it do any good?" :lol

Ch 1: Lelaine is now posturing to make herself Amyrlin should Egwene die or be stilled. :rolleyes
