Hello.
I've been politely encouraged to post on the introductions forum for some time now, so here I am. I'm sort of coming at TV.net backwards. I've been hanging out in the IRC chatroom(s) for about a month. I used to IRC quite a bit in the nineties, and while I am still close to some of those friends I met, I find that what I'm missing is the sense of community that developed around the chat rooms I was in at that time. So at the beginning of November I decided to go looking for an active IRC chatroom. Wheel of Time seemed like the top choice given how much and how long I have loved the series. Very happy to find a somewhat active one still out there.
I started reading Wheel of Time when I was a freshman at University; I remember I had to get Book 7 in hardcover because paperback wasn't out yet. I would generally do a full re-read before each new release. My favorite characters are Egwene, Suian and Moiraine. I've learned in recent years that Egwene may not be all that popular on the internet, but since Fires of Heaven she has always been my girl.
I never participated on TV.net but it was my favorite spot to look up information. Particularly when I ran into a random minor character I knew that I'd met before, but couldn't quite remember where.
I live in south eastern Wisconsin.
That's probably more than you want to hear about some random internet nerd. I will try to start participating on the forums in an effort to trick you fine people into liking me. Please stop by the IRC channel and say hello.
