Hello. I've only recently started reading the books, myself - I haven't met your favourite character yet, at any rate. I look forward to seeing her... and meeting the Aiel properly, come to think.

Wow, so thank you everyone for such a welcoming response. I really appreciate the warm reception. I appreciate the positive feedback on the avatar as I spent some time wandering around the Internet looking and just figured I would use my old one since I still identify with it. I will definitely reach out if I have any questions to anyone who offered, good to have resources laid out for newcomers.

Bourdain’s show has really given me so many lofty ideals about where I wanted to travel, the list just keeps getting longer. I have my heart set on either Alaska (tho the prospect of meeting a bear in the wilderness is a fairly terrifying prospect to me), the Grand Canyon because its one of the world’s natural wonders. Everyone I’ve spoken to who has been says that it’s a mind blowing experience. I just want to sit on the cliffs above the gorge and watch the sun rise and set once in my life. I’ve seen pictures and I’m sure that it would be a memory not easily forgotten. Overseas travel is something that I have to plan a bit more for since it’s kind of expensive, tho I did visit Ireland a couple of years ago and that was a magical land. I’d really like to visit Iceland one day, swim in the hot springs, see some nature.

Strangest thing I’ve noticed since I’ve been back was someone’s avatar was a picture of Bean. I loled a bit at that one. Also, its not very surprising to me that there are an abundance of English majors on this community particularly. My people are everywhere!

And Sierra Sedai I was Rialt Erydinan, fearless leader of the Black Tower for a number of years. Who were you? Really curious!

Selvyn I really envy you getting a chance to read through them for the first time. I got pretty well sucked into the stories both as a series and on the internet. What book are you on right now, I know you said you just started.

Ha! I remember you Siera Sedai! Hanajima...that is a serious blast from the past. Its really exciting to run into someone from a time that seems so far gone. I hope life's been treating you spectacularly in the mean time. Wow..I have a big ole grin on my face. As for how you roleplayed, as long as you had fun with it, that's all that matters right? TBH I barely even recall if my own rping was any good. It was a lot of fun either way.

Congratulations on graduating, that's a huge accomplishment! I've been out for about 4 years or so now, and somtimes alll I want to do is go back. Life has treated me...not so bad I'd say. The world is currently intent on having its way with me, as it does with us all. One of my focus' right now is trying to understand it the bst I can. Tho I would say I'm starting to realize one does not simply understand the world we live in. At all. :P

Selvyn, I always found the writing style to be so different from book one to book two. Or maybe I'm just misremembering it, what do you think?

I didn't notice anything like that, honestly. The only difference I can think of along those lines is that the characters are more familiar now; they've had time to grow and so on. Their motivations are clearer, too, with factors like the Hunt and certain unwanted abilities shaping many thoughts and decisions.
