Hiring: TikTok Creator
The Social Media Team is looking to extend our social media presence and are now looking for a TikTok Creator. If you want to learn more about making videos, have a good reading voice or camera presence, or just want to try out something new, don’t hesitate to apply!
We haven’t had a TikTok Creator for quite some time so you will be able to help develop the position and make it your own. We do not require that you show your face in any videos unless this is something you are okay with doing. Our focus is on showcasing TarValon.Net and share Wheel of Time news
We are aiming to start posting videos in early 2024

Chain of Command
The TikTok Creator reports to the Social Media Manager
Duties and responsibilities
- Take the lead on engaging with the Wheel of Time community on TikTok
- Create and share at least one weekly video on TikTok
- Assist with scheduling posts as needed
- Share news and content as tasked
- Engage with the Wheel of Time community through posts, comments, reshares, DMs etc
- Be up to date on ongoing topics within the Wheel of Time community. This includes news about The Wheel of Time TV-show, new book releases from Brandon Sanderson, and other relevant news and anniversary relevant to WoT
- Help drive interest and traffic to TarValon.Net forums and Discord through a consistent social media presence
The Social Media Manager and Assistant Social Media Manager will be helping you with reaching your goals
Expectations
- Actively engaging and participating in the Social Media Team Forum and Discord Channel
- Be tactful and considerate when providing feedback and edits to fellow staff members
- Be reliable! Let the Social Media Manager know if you will be out of reach for some time
Time Commitment
- Must be willing to spend up to 7 hours a week at this position, across the TarValon.Net forums, Discord and social platforms, during a busy week. Normally 1-2 hours spread across all seven days will be sufficient
- The ability to check on the Social Media Staff Board at least once a week is a necessity for this position
Qualifications
- Must have been a member of TarValon.Net for at least 6 months*. Open to any rank; Citizen or above
- Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must enjoy social media interactions
- Must adhere to TarValon.Net member Code of Conduct when engaging on social media
- Must follow TarValon.Net’s social media rules when engaging on social media
- Must understand the sensitive nature of social media and, therefore, maintain and promote the culture of inclusivity as is consistent with our membership standards
The Social Media Manager is always available to give guidance as needed
