Hi! My name is Analiese, or just Ana, as my old roomies, The Accents, called me. I think I was purged, because I used to be an Accepted, and now I'm a visitor. Life got in the way and I was gone for a while. I'm actually kind of glad to start over, if I can. I'm not too clear on the rules. Anyway a bit about me:

I am almost 31 (in like a week and a half). I am an Army Brat, and married to a wonderful man who also served, named Steven. He has been out for a few years now, and I think the readjustment to civilian life and moving were part of what contributed to my absence here. It all just got overwhelming for both of us for a while and we were kind of in a holding pattern for a while there.

Anyway, we have two children. Isa, or Isobel, is 13 and blonde and sassy and I imagine that if she were alive back when the Beatles were huge in the sixties, she would have been one of the girls screaming and fainting in the aisles. I mean, I fangirl too, but never with the kind of abandon that she shows when confronted with The Walking Dead or 21 Pilots.

Corbin is almost 7 and just started 1st grade. He wants to be a youtube gamer and a scientist when he grows up. He wants to make a time machine.

I am a stay at home mom, though I am working on getting a job as a medical coder or biller so that I can work from home and take some of the burden off my husband while still being available for him and my kids.

  1. What is your favorite character in The Wheel of Time and why?

My favorite character in Wheel of Time would have to be Mat Cauthon. He reminds me so much of important men in my life and he really is an amazing guy. If he was a real life person, I would want to be his friend. I also really like Lan, for some of the same reasons that I like Mat. In fact, if you combined Mat and Lan together, you would get my dad and my husband's personalities perfectly. My favorite women in WoT are Birgitte, Nynaeve, and Moiraine, although I like most of them well enough. I'm actually playing a character in D&D named Birgitta Cauthon, and I am kind of basing her on Mat and Birgitte. She is a rogue fighter.

  1. How did you find TarValon.Net?

I found it for the first time back in like 05ish, but I was on student computers and I couldn't make a profile. About 6 years ago, I came back to try again. I had been a member of Wotmania for its last few years, and though I made a profile, I had technical difficulties and a lot of personal issues so making a go of it then was so not happening. Finally I tried again a few years ago and everything was going well, I thought. I was going to school and it seemed like we could finally catch our breath after my husband got injured on his last tour of duty. Once everything calmed down, I shut down. It was found that I have PTSD due to things that happened to me during my first marriage. It, along with my depression, just kind of all caught up with me. It finally came to a head last winter and I started a new medication for anxiety, and now I am recovering. I feel better than I have in years. I'm still a work in progress, and I'm not promising that there won't be further lapses, but I will do my best.

  1. What do you do? (student? job? hobbies?)

I am a stay at home wife and mother in Alexandria, Louisiana. My husband works in a factory in the next town. We play D&D with a group of friends every other Sunday, and my favorite video game is Mass Effect. I also love the Elder Scrolls games. I don't like playing online though. If I'm gonna play with people, I want to have them in the same room. It's more fun that way. I love to read, and I have gotten into the whole coloring thing. It helps with everything. I also love watching American Ninja Warrior, and anything fantasy, or scifi, and most horror. I also like to cross stitch, though I haven't done that in years. I also belly dance.

  1. What is your favorite book or author other than Robert Jordan and The Wheel of Time?

Ummmm, I...see, that is like asking me which kid is my favorite. I am absurdly attached to my books and I have over 1000. I like a bit of everything.

So yeah, That is me and wow, I wrote a lot. Sorry about the infodump. I look forward to meeting friends, old and new, as I start over in Tar Valon.

Hello Cahalan Sedai :D It is great to meet you as well!

I am in Louisiana, but in the middle of the state. It has been storming quite a bit in my area, even more than we are used to, but nowhere near as badly as in south eastern La. My Mom and my older sister, my niece, and some other family are in Baton Rogue, where some of the worst flooding is happening though. They are all alright, but I keep calling them and checking up on them through facebook.

It has been wonderful to see how everyone in the state, no matter who they are, seems to be dropping everything to do what they can to help out. Pretty much everyone with a boat has joined the "Cajun Navy" to help with rescue efforts. It makes me proud to have grown up somewhere like this. I guess we're like Two Rivers people like that. We may bicker and such, but when bad stuff happens, we pick right back up and keep going, and we step in when others need help.

Lovely to meet you. Always good to have a pyro around. So much is different, lol, but then I had access to a lot more forums then. TarValon.net seems just as welcoming and friendly as I remember, though.

lol, I think I remember that about that Company. But your sig says you are to be a Red? How did you like the Guesting? I didn't get to finish mine because of RL dragging me away. I only got to visit 4 Ajahs then, and girls couldn't be Warders yet.

I might be a pyro and I did enjoy my time in VC, but Red is where the heart is for me :cheeseeni:
I very much enjoyed my guesting experience, although I didn't finish mine either  I still had a few groups to go to by the time I guested Red but when I actually experienced the Red life I was hooked, so I didn't end up seeing a few of the other groups

I feel like I've said Red too many times

Hahaha, It's totally ok. I'm excited to start again and see where I go this time around. I'm really excited that they changed the rules about gender. They were just starting to talk about that when I left and I'm glad they did it. I was always kinda bummed that I wouldn't be able to guest with the companies too.

I recognize you from my long hours in the Library :P What happened to you was not responding during the Membership clean-up I believe. Welcome back though :) If you need help around here with all the changes that took place, do not hesitate to ask, I'll be glad to help you :pleased-1:

I didn't see the email. It must have gone to my spam folder. I figured there was a purge when I signed in and the site was soooo much smaller, lol. Then I shrugged and figured, What the heck, things have changed, why not just go with it. I've already reapplied for citizenship. Fingers crossed that it happens. I am working on my posts so I can qualify.

Thank you for the welcome. It is good to be back.

Glad you and yours are okay! I have some family that live in the SE part of the state, but so far they're okay. I think the only real damage they've seen is their church, which is pretty good news.

That's great! I just hope it doesn't mean y'all have braid-tugging contests ;)
