We have some exciting Discord changes that will be coming your way! As part of that process, we need to make a change that is a shift in our fundamental practices on Discord.
Currently, for moderation purposes (mostly logging text channels), we use bots that were written and maintained by Tech. Discord has changed a lot, and the programming has changed as well. We want to be able to use new Discord features and not lag behind in the future. So we have decided to bring in a 3rd-party bot and discontinue our own.
What does this mean for you? Why are we announcing this?
It means that logs are held offsite with a 3rd-party. This is a fundamental change in our privacy which is why I'm making this announcement. We will be utilizing the MEE6 bot. For more information about this bot, go here.
The addition of this bot is one step in our evolving plan for Discord. More information about that will be coming out in the near future. MEE6 is pretty awesome, and making this change means we can also do things like utilize threads. We can set up reaction role requests. And so much more!
