Instead of a voice chat, the Citizens are hosting a D&D game for their Takeover week!

@Hal Bahalla will be the DM, and he has set the time for March 4th, 7pm - 11pm Eastern time.

He's looking for 3 committed players, with a maximum of 8.

Players must be willing to have their cameras turned on during the session.

This will be a 2nd level adventure, and characters will be created before the game via Discord chat.

I've invited Rhavyn to play, since it's nice for DMs to be players every so often, I will let you know what he says. Technically he's a Resident Citizen, but he's so old he probably fell of membership lists a decade or two ago.

The camera is more for practical purposes. For example, we discovered there's a lot of talking over each other in our campaign, because it's hard to read the room on video chats. And, you kinda need to take in information for roleplay conversations. So, in order to make it fair for people if their character has a question, and they (or their character) are on the shyer side, we have a rule that you raise your hand to say you have something to say, but you're waiting to speak.

I'm really looking forward to running this game for the Tower. It is an adventure I wrote that provides a nice mix of role play, puzzles, exploration, combat, and morally ambiguous choices

As @Leala ni al'Dareis t'al'Caleum mentioned, I know having the camera on can be tough for some, but after multiple years of virtual DnD, I have come to realize that it makes the game 999% better for players and the DM to be able to "see" each other. The simple act of "raising your hand" fixes so many things.

We've got just over a week before March 4th so not a lot of time. We'll need a little time to handle the "Session 0" character creation stuff before then. I'd like to aim to have the players pulled together by end of day February 28th (Wednesday).

If anyone has questions about the game or this session, feel free to DM me here on the site or in Discord. You do NOT need any previous experience to play, I ran this adventure for some coworkers recently who had never played before and they had a great time.

Adventure Hook…

You are all life long residences of a mid sized town many many miles from a real city. Your town borders a dangerous forest, or it least is used to be dangerous. If it still is or not is yet to be determined…

You see up until two days ago your Forest was the home of an Evil Green Dragon named Vasicrasius. She made the Forest her home forever. Even the dwarfs and elves in the town don’t recall a time before her poisonous breath and presence was felt within the Forest. It wasn’t an easy life being in her shadow, but it was home.

But that all changed two days ago when the latest in a long line of adventurers attempting to slay the beast actually did it. Bloodied and one member short, they came out of the Forest bearing the gigantic head of Vasicrasius. It has been nothing but a celebration in town ever since.

We will begin our adventure where every good adventure begins. In a tavern, The Drunkin Dragon Tavern to be exact. You have spent the day drinking, laughing, and boasting about what great adventures you will go on yourselves. For if that group could kill a dragon, you all can do anything!

And to my eager adventurers, begin thinking of what characters you’d like to play. We’ll be sticking primarily with the Players Handbook for races, classes, etc. And you’ll be Level 2 characters for this adventure, you are just beginning afterall.

@Phen al'Rohan , I know you are new to the game, I’m happy to work with you to build your character out. And I can even random generate one based on so e easy decisions/choices you could make.
