The best sort of book changes not only the characters within but also the reader. I'm glad others find the Wheel of Time books valuable that way, as I do.
Wow you took my thoughts and feelings and wrote them here for me. I've also used the series as a guide, and tried to understand and apply the life lessons contained in it.
I just finished the series, and reread the last chapter again this morning. I stared at the last page while tears slid down my face.
" He came like the wind, like the wind he touched everything, and like the wind was gone."
It meant so much more to me now then when I read it ten years ago. I have recently started reading about daoist and I realized that the wheel of time is all very daoist!! The yin yang, the light and dark, male and female, and all the other opposites in the series. The surrendering of saidar is also like the going with the dao of life.
I am so sad that its over, I almost can't wait to give it a few years so I can reread it again. I even got my brother, who does not read, to start the series. He loves it. I have successfully converted a nonreader!!! I am still having a difficult time moving on. Oh Egwene....
