Lake Tahoe!
Thank you, Eleyan Sedai, for submitting a bid to take us to your home region of Northern California. I for one am very excited to get to see Tahoe, and to try not to get cannibalized in the Donner Pass!
Now, we don't yet have a specific location because we are still looking for a budget-friendly but beautiful place to stay. With the variety of places around Tahoe, though, I have no doubt we'll find the perfect location in which to celebrate our 15th anniversary.
Since we don't have a venue yet, we don't have a ticket price yet, though we're looking at a ticket price that will include room cost. Your ticket will definitely include all of our programming, plus a catered dinner and dance on Saturday evening. :dance
Ticket price will not include meals, other than the catered dinner Saturday evening, so start planning accordingly. Once we have a venue, we'll let you know so you can check out what's nearby for food.
Budgeting for airfare: you have two options of airports. First, and closest, is the Reno-Tahoe International Airport in Reno, NV. Reno is about an hour away from Lake Tahoe, plus there are shuttles that run from the airport to resorts, so it may be possible to not rent a car to get to the venue.
Option 2 is further away, in Sacramento. It's about 2 hours away.
We are looking at doing an April date, probably an early April date. We don't want to have an event in March because SNOW and we're near the Donner Pass and you know what happened when they got snowed in. We are conscious of JordanCon in late April, and Anni will not be back-to-back with JCon.
The Tower is going to Lake Tahoe! You guys, if you can only make a party every now and then, this is totally the one to make. I hope all of you can come help me celebrate our 15 years in the home of our founder. It's going to be amazing.
