Announcing B&I Party 2017!
I'm very excited to announce that next year we'll be taking the B&I celebration north of the border to Scotland: Callander
Dates will be forthcoming but are not yet available - Callander is in the Trossachs and a mere bus ride away from Stirling. Stirling is not only famous for it's gorgeous castle but also the Wallace Monument. Nearby is also Falkirk with the magnificent Kelpies to visit, as well as the Falkirk Wheel, the only canal boat "lift" of its kind! In Callander itself, there's still a "high street" with a variety of shops from supermarkets to delicatessens to sweet shops. In the local area there is just about every kind of outdoor activity imaginable, should anyone wish to try laser tag, horse-riding or kayaking!
It's also a stunningly beautiful area with many lovely walks to do - nearby Bracklinn Falls is popular, as it's a relatively easy walk with a gorgeous series of waterfalls to see at the end. There are plenty of nature walks in the area as well - ranging from riverbank or lochside. History lovers will be eager to hear that the Trossachs has a wealth of local stories from Rob Roy McGregor, to William Wallace, to Robert the Bruce.
Transport wise the closest international airports would be either Edinburgh or Glasgow, and a train connects from both cities direct to Stirling.
This area of Scotland is full of things to see and do while at the site or for an extended visit.
I'm very much looking forward to this party and working with Ealandrelle Sedai as an amazing Local Liaison! And many thanks to her for detailing all the excellent offerings of this beautiful area in Scotland!
