Do you have dreams of sharing the wonders of your city with the Tower populace? Think your city has what it takes to throw a kickin' rad Fall Ball party? Tired of trekking to the other side of forever just to hang out with Tower people?
If you would like to bid on a location for Fall Ball 2014, please send an e-mail titled 2014 FALL BALL BID to naevents@tarvalon.net, events@tarvalon.net, and officers@tarvalon.net. Bids need to be submitted by September 26th, 2013.
Things to keep in mind when submitting a bid:
If your bid is selected, YOU will be an integral part of the planning. By making a bid, you are volunteering to be the local liason.
What does that mean? You will be my eyes and ears on the spot. You will be expected to do a lot of the leg work to find hotels, local activities, and transportation options.
When is that again? Fall Ball is generally held around mid October to early November and we're looking for a tourist-friendly location. We try to schedule a lot of "free time" during Fall Ball to let people explore the city, so having available day time activities is a MUST.
Hotels with a meeting room we can reserve to socialize in are a HUGE plus.
Normal Fall Ball attendance is 30-40 people.
Please include the following information in your bid and aim to use the following headings:
Name and rank of submitter(s)
Overview
Location
Personal experience with the area
Why you think the location would be our best option
Location
City (overview & details)
Activities (museums, sites, and other touristy things to do in the area)
Hotel Options (URL, Phone Numbers and Pricing)
Transportation (Major Airports in the area, options for people to get to the hotels)
Support
Point of Contact - Who would serve as local liaison for the event?
Other – additional Tower volunteers who will help facilitate event
Consider the following questions in your narrative overview:
Approximately how far are potential hotels from major airports?
How much is the bus/shuttle from the airports, and what are the hours of operation?
How much, approximately, are flights from a few major airports (Vancouver, Seattle, LA, Denver, Houston, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, NYC, DC area).
How much can members expect to budget for some of the extra activities you might have in mind?
Remember - this is just a guideline - please feel free to send us more information if you have it! There is no such thing as "too much information" when it comes to submitting a bid.
If you think you and your town has what it takes, but you still have some lingering questions, doubts or concerns, please feel free to send us an email! We're happy to talk you through the process and let you know what we need and what you should expect.
