40's or maybe even 50's for highs. Not cold at all.

Jodi, you do realize that for some of us that qualifies as "the depths of winter", right? A bit chilly for me is LOWs in the 50s. :P

I do love MN though. I just love it more in the middle of summer.

Fair enough :look: so for some it will be freezing, but for others it will be lovely ;)

BC could be cool... but Michigan is also interesting. Maybe not Detroit but Ann Arbor is cuteness on a stick! :P Honestly, I like Detroit... but I’m weird like that.

Agreed on this.

And bite me, Jeffy. I don't give half a crap about tourism in the US unless it's something like NYC. I don't want to put in a bid to bring it back to Toronto until I've actually been to an event, and I can't get to any of them with how far most of them are from me. So far it's been almost cheaper for me to fly to Europe than to an event in the US.

I see Michigan as a good call because it's guaranteed to draw in a lot of people--we've proven that already with just how many people make the effort to come to the unofficial michigan parties. And they have good, fun parties.

Frankly, there's no call for this sort of tone in this thread.

It's for informational purposes only, and I ask that further discussion of this nature be moved to your apartment/ajah/table/chat room.

Oooh I like the idea of Hart House, Elbie :D. I think it's also only a 15-20 minute walk from my house. :D

BC would be awesome. Though Fall is not the best time, not bad either. Are there any Tower members from BC I know theres some in Alberta and ontario, but not met any BC people yet.

Can't wait to see the results!

Does one need a passport to go to Canada if that is where it ends up being?

I believe for US Citizens a passport card is sufficient to travel to Canada. However, it is just as well to get the full fledged passport book if you have any intention of going overseas within a few years. A passport card is $30 and a book is $110, so there is a cost involved, I suppose.

When I got my passport this summer, it took two weeks, but it's wise to try to get it asap.

A card is $55 if you have never had a passport before. But still much cheaper than a full passport.

I couldn't stand the thought of not having a passport - even though I haven't been overseas since November 2009 I like to know I could go back over at the drop of a hat.

Can I ask what is a passport card and how long does it last? I know a passport in Australia lasts 10 years does your normal passport last that long too?

A passport card is basically a mini passport. It allows US Citizens to reenter from land borders with Canada and Mexico, as well as Bermuda and Caribbean countries by sea port. It's good for 10 years and fits in the wallet much like a drivers licence.

Note, it's not coming into Canada you need a Passport for, it's getting the US to let you back in ;) I believe a birth certificate is still valid for coming into Canada.
