Things that were left unexplained, either from this book, or the whole series
Where is all the cuendillar?
It can't be destroyed and they know again how to make it, so it should really build up again in the fourth age, so in at least two of the seven, it is being made, which means it should be everywhere.
Unless the seventh age ends with the destruction of the universe and the start of a new one?

:brown-blink: True... I never thought about that. But re: cuendillar, I was in fact wondering why didn't they make any cuendillar dragons. Like Egwene did with the chain in Tar Valon's harbor - it wouldn't have taken more than a couple of seconds probably.

Taika: I would imagine that the Dragons arrived to late for it, and all Aes Sedai were already preoccupied with other stuff? Few could do it quickly, iirc, and none as fast as Egwene.

Perhaps cuendillar isn't unbreakable even by mundane means - they just haven't figured out how to do it, yet. Or maybe it has a lifetime (a long one though), after which it reverts back to the previous material.

I suppose so, the battle logistics are not very clear in my head. :p But I thought Elayne was near the dragons at some point? Didn't she have the ability? I remember the scene in some previous book where the Salidar Aes Sedai practiced making the cuendillar - Egwene was fast, and Leane almost as fast, and Mat's sister Bodewhin (?) was also good, but I don't remember if Elayne even knew of the weave. :scratch

Considering that Elayne's abilities lie elsewhere (manipulating the weather, for instance), I doubt she's got a knack for even, even if she knows the weave.

Balefire would win, I imagine.

No, cuendillar deflects balefire.

TSR said:
The glass-walled table fell before the molten shaft vanished, leaving a pu rplish bar that seemed burned into Nynaeve's vision; the cuendillar figures were all that dropped out of that molten white shaft, bouncing on the floor. The figurines did not break, of course. It seemed Moghedien was right; not even balefire could destroy cuendillar.

Another unexplained thing, or perhaps I missed it:

What was the point of the Eelfinn and Aelfinn having Mat's eye? Does anybody know?

I imagine that a spaceship came from outer space and stole all the cuendillar because however high tech the planet it comes from is they don't have the One Power and can't make cuendillar themselves.

If I remember correctly all of that happened while Elayne was securing her throne. So I don't think she ever learned it.

Huh. That's pretty cool. Totally forgot about that.

And Taika, the Eelfinn/Aelfinn feed off of emotion. Pain is definitely an emotion. :P

Every weave has its opposite. Just like you can undo compulsion by laying on a reverse version of the weave. Just like Eugene made anti-balefire. So logically, there should be an anti-cuendillar weave. It's just a weave, after all.

We'll all miss Eugene, but at least she left her mark on the world.

She couldn't have done it anyway, the dragons aren't cast out of iron.

Which is the basis for cuendillar.

Really? :p No, I just thought because Mat was worrying about them spying through his eye that there was more to it. Apparently not.

Okay, thanks. I didn't think of it.
