Oh dear, another newbie!

Hi, everyone!
I used to be a tarvalon.net member (VERY briefly and A LONG, LONG time ago :P ) and I thought I'd come back to see what the site is like so many years later. I'm a little intimidated by the sheer size of this place, to be perfectly honest :laugh:

It took me a while to get the courage to sign up, but I just started a WoT re-read and I'm so thrilled to be back in Randland that I just couldn't resist anymore

I can't wait to meet all of you!

Wooooo! I'm in Delaware currently but may be in DC in the relatively near future - I'm between here, Baltimore, and DC pretty frequently.

Welcome to Tar Valon, Auri! I will admit, this place can be a little bit overwhelming at first, but not only do we love newcomers, we also try to make it as easy for them to adapt and immerse into the community. :pleased-1:

We have pointers and important information just about everywhere, and if you still have any trouble, I'm sure that many - including me - would be most helpful.

I am definitely going to check that out, although I'm only just about halfway through TDR :embarassed:

But I'm enjoying the early books so much, I'm remembering why I fell in love with WoT to begin with. And I'm actually listening to the Audiobooks, so it's a whole new experience

And actually, my favorite character has always been Nynaeve... :tug :laugh:

I know a lot people were always frustrated by her, but I just love her so much. What are your guys' favorites?

Cahalan, I'm actually a little torn between the Two Rivers (I just love the idea of this mostly peaceful and far-off district that's technically Andor's but then not really :P ) and Tar Valon (that's the city girl in me speaking). What about you guys?

I LOVE the audio books! I read all of the books in print first, but almost all my rereads have been on audio.

I'm one of those who always loved Nyneave. I also really like Faile, which seems to be a minority opinion around here. :laugh:

Perrin was always my favorite of the three boys, but Mat has grown on me over the years (I didn't like him when I first read the books).

I'm absolutely loving the audiobooks! The narrators are just wonderful, they really bring all the characters to live and somehow give them each a very distinctive voice. Amazing!

Hahaha, oh wow I really like Faile too! I thought I was the only one :laugh:

Perrin is also my favorite of the boys. I don't actually remember if I grew fonder of Mat later on, but he has certainly been a little brat up to this point :tug

Love your avatar choice, Auri!

I like all the main female characters, although I find Min to be pretty boring. Really, the only characters I truly disliked were Berelain and Cadsuane. I reserve a special category for Elaida, for whom my dislike exceeds all rational boundaries for a fictional character :laugh:
