We are looking for people to fill a new position that will be necessary when we make the switch to vBulletin. This is a staff position within the Department of Technology. We are hiring two individuals for this position.

Duties

• Navigate the vBulletin backend to add and remove members from usergroups in vBulletin.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Do so in a timely and efficient manner![/*:m:10fmer0c]

Requirements

• Must be a Senior Member in good standing with the Tower.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Must be able to dedicate 5-10 hours per week to this position, though the specific time needed will fluctuate week to week.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Must be active, organized, and able to pay attention to little details.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Must have good interpersonal skills as you will be working directly with Membership Admins.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Must stay in contact with the Director of Technology.[/*:m:10fmer0c]
• Must have the computer skills necessary to do this job.[/*:m:10fmer0c]

Quick question. Which skills would be covered by "computer skills necessary to do the job"?

If you can do basic stuff, you'll probably be okay for the position. It requires logging into the backend and adjusting usergroups; that's pretty much it. If you can post on a message board, you probably have the skills or can pick it up. :P I'll be training whomever we select. That requirement was listed because I work in a public library, and I get a lot of people that come in and barely know how to type. I would assume that just about everyone in our community does not fall into that boat. But I wanted to cover bases. :P

I'm really glad Erin ran with this title, though I know others are bummed about Passport Control or Immigration not being used.
