Hello! My name is Ian Tsornin, son of Raina Tsornin, who proceeded to spark my interest in the world of Wheel of Time. I'm admitedly still working my way through the first book, I got to the chapter where they stop in Shadar Logoth, and then for some reason got side tracked. To be fair I was reading it at a boy scout summer camp, and there was more to do than read. Now, to start with the template for introductions.
My favorite character is Rand, because during my initial read through I thought he was the coolest out of all of them. Swords and bows and all that. I found TarValon through my mom, who I actually started talking about it recently due to the show on Amazon, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I (she really) decided that it was time I start reading the book again and join the forum. And so, here I am!
I am currently working as a truck driver, waiting to start a new job hauling farm equipment on flatbed trailers at the beginning of next year, primarily in the midwest area where I live. As for hobbies, I have a penchant for building fictional worlds for one purpose or another, and then never using them for anything. So far best I've been able to use them for is to add to the world of an RP server on discord I'm in. I also start stories and never finish them, though someday I hope to finish at least one of them.
My favorite book series outside of Wheel of Time is the Leviathan trilogy by Scott Westerfeld, a story set in an alternate early 1900s at the start of the Great War, with the Darwinist countries, whose focus lies with genetically altered 'beasties' instead of the Clankers, whose focus instead lies with steam and diesel powered walking machines and aircraft. The two characters at the center of it are a girl pretending to be a boy in the British Royal Air Service, with a love of flight brought about by her father, and an Austrian prince, who is forced to run from his home in the dead of night after his mother and father are assasinated in a certain historical event. Good read, if it piques anyone's interest.
I'm looking forwards to meeting people here and on the discord server, along with exploring more of the forum as I start reading the books again, and it's nice to meet all who read this!
And, as my mother said at my excitement to finally having access, "We like new people in the cult... I mean..."
