Is there a record of how much money came in and how much was paid and for what it's been paid?

I guess tv.net inc. is much like a German Verein?
I'm quite reluctant with any sort of donation, especially to foreign organisations (I once multiplied my working hours at a volunteer organisation with my hourly earnings when a colleague collected money after some natural disaster somewhere and he was... uhm... a little surprised )

Still, thanks to all the people who keep the tower running and fluid

Okies! Weekly updated! I'm happy for two weeks worth of our campaign! This is fantastic!

Is there a record of how much money came in and how much was paid and for what it's been paid?

I can tell you that as CFO I'm working on this in the form of a yearly budget. Contained in that will be our operating costs, what we've recieved in donations, what we've recieved and spent on our events (real life get togethers and conferences), so on and so forth for 2010.

I can also tell you that if you're worried where your money will be going, that absolutely, 100% of all donations goes to legitimate operating costs and expenses. We are completely volunteer, and no staff or officers receive compensation of any kind. And we're happy about that. That's the way we want it.

And you know what? I am glad that you're skeptical, and as a member you have every right to ask questions like that. One of my big things as a new member of the Board of Directors is accountability.

So, how does one get to where they can see these magical updates? I'm assuming it's a page somewhere I can click and view, but the search is defeating me at the moment.

We will be keeping a running list of contributors and the total amount we have raised so far on our main site. Please allow a few days for your name to be posted after donating online, and at least a week after donating via mail.

Hey, you donated! That is by far the most important thing. I know the saying "it all adds up" might seem trite, but honestly, an unmade donation can't benefit our community. I know Xy and I haven't yet, as we're calculating out our finances so we can do just what you did- give as much as we can.

Seriously, every $1 adds up.

When I was fundraising for something else, I went and hit up tailgaters at football games. I'd get mostly dollars from people ("Sure, I can give you a buck. Here ya go!"), sometimes 5's or 10's, and occasionally (maybe twice a day) even a 20!

Doesn't seem like a lot. But it all adds up. By the end of the day, I could bring in $800. At least 2/3 of which was from individuals giving me a single dollar.

If we had 1000 members, and even half of those members gave $5, it would make $2500, which covers a lot of our operating costs in a year. So yes, we really, truly do appreciate every single little bit that we receive!

I was just wishing it were enough for the chance at the private activity.

I definitely know about the "adding up" part. I clean bars. You find a lot of change. Mostly pennies. In the last few weeks I've collected $20 in change!

Aldus & I just got our donations in thanks to the wonder that is payday!

I really appreciate you all for running this fundraiser. Especially since now I know the paypal address for donations, so if we're able to do more later this year, I won't have to harass ya for it.

As of Monday, the total raised was $2002 though I don't know if that includes any checks sent in.
