I have just finished The Gathering Storm, the first book written by Brandon Sanderson. And I'm going to say, I enjoyed it.
High points to me:
My only real gripe with the book was:
High points to me:
-Rand going completely brutal after killing Semerheige, even threatening to stop Cadsuane's heart if she stayed near him.
-Elaida's name will be Saufa, and she will be a good damane. A very very good damane.
-Rand simply going 'fuck it' when Grendael's concerned, simply balefiring her fortress and being done with it.
-Rand going completely insane when Tam shows up, and the following scenes culminating to his revelation on Dragonmount. It was really well done in my mind. The fact that Rand almost ended the world himself, and it was Lews Therin that snapped him out of it. And even showing that the two were merging by how they worded their conversations at that point was just remarkably well done. Bravo Sanderson, bravo.

My only real gripe with the book was:
The death of Masema. It was just done offhandedly, thrown in right at the beginning and then that's it.
