Hi Saya, glad you decided to come back - I have a hunch you'll find the group more to your liking :pleased-1:

(I know a few people who act like they're 13... not saying any names though :look:  ... Oh who am I kidding that includes me :P )

Hello Saya! I really sympathize with you on wanting to do things, and do them very well. :p I too am a victim of wanting too much perfection. Will you tell me more about Johan Ajvide Lindqvist? I realize I could just look him up on the internet, but I'd rather hear it from a reader. Is he foreign? Why are his books so brilliantly creepy? Unfortunately I don't think I could ever read his works if he doesn't write in English. :p

I guess I never really got to know the novices from 3 years ago, I'll try better this time, Saowynn.

You've been a member for longer than I have, but in my time here so far, I feel like I have learned that the Tower is here when you need it. :) There's no need to feel guilty for your previous activity. It's here for your enjoyment and fun--don't worry. ;)

Regardless, welcome back! :joy

Welcome back, Saya! I remember you. If you're anywhere near Oslo (or can go by bus/train to Oslo), come to an event when we have one. :)

He's Swedish. His works can be found in Norwegian, not sure if they can be found in English though. I haven't read all his books, but I recently read "Let the right one in" which has been adapted into an American film, a Swedish film and a theatre play. I have not watched the American film, though I think it's only based on the story, not a correct adaption. The Swedish one was quite similar to the book, as I recall. His books are horror/crime, fantasy mixed with our time Sweden. Very realistic depictions, and characters as from our own daily life makes the 'fantasy' (spoiler:vampires) more likely to happen next-door.

I don't live near Oslo, and my mom is quite overprotective when it comes to 'big cities' such as Oslo, though, I'd like to come sometime in the future.

And thank you to everyone else for welcoming me back.

Aww too bad. I probably can't read them then. His works sound interesting! Sometimes it's a little harder to sell me on slice-of-life writing or shows, unless it's in a school setting. That's just me though.

So have you found anything strange about being a novice when logging on again for the first time in so long? I've never applied to the Tower so I don't know any of the behind-the-scenes things, but I was just wondering. It's kind-of like going for a walk in your hometown again after having moved away from years and years, you know what I mean? Sometimes it feels funny. :p

Yeah, I would say I do feel a little bit of that back in hometown feeling you're describing (though I've never moved from my hometown). I wasn't a novice for a long time before leaving, so I didn't really become used to it in the first place.

Welcome back Saya! I'm glad to see another young person on the boards. I'm 16 and recently joined with my mom, Ashara Koh'inor. I'm sure I'll be seeing you around!

Saya: Ah, yes, the big cities are such scary places. (I live right on the outskirts of Oslo...) :look:

Once you turn 18, it'll be your decision to go, and I sure hope we'll see you at local events then. :)

I am glad you no longer assume you have nothing to offer. I'd argue you always have had plenty to share, but sometimes it can take awhile to realize it, eh? Welcome back.
