By popular demand, the Marketing team has spent a lot of time discussing and planning flyers for our membership to hand out at local events such as Sanderson book signings, sci-fi/fantasy or WoT gatherings, and the like. And now we'd like your suggestions for the headline of our flyers: a few words / a short, creative phrase that tells people what TarValon.Net is and why they should check us out. Read on for more details.

"What does TarValon.Net mean to you?" Tagline Contest!

The Department of Marketing is looking for a little help from our great community as we come up with a tagline for introducing TarValon.Net to more people and prospective members!

All TarValon.Net members are encouraged to submit taglines for our promotional flyers. By tagline, we mean a branded phrase that will represent TarValon.Net in our marketing endeavors. It will be a phrase that will catch peoples' attention and hopefully stick with them; summing up our community and purpose in a creative way.

When brainstorming for this topic it is key to think about what our community is all about, and how we want to present ourselves officially. Keep in mind that TarValon.Net is known as the philanthropic arm of the major Wheel of Time fan communities (emphasis on being true Servants of All), and we're also known for our focus on great live events!

Please feel free to submit any of your clever, witty or otherwise entertaining suggestions for our official TarValon.Net tagline, or headline phrase. All ideas are welcome!

To help give you an idea of what we're talking about, below is a copy of the ad TarValon.Net placed in this year's JordanCon brochures. The tagline that is selected from the contest submissions will go at the top of our future such ads and on our new promotional flyers (described above).

General Rules & Guidelines

  • All submissions must be original work: you cannot borrow slogans from other sites, you cannot take direct quotes from copyrighted material, and you cannot use the copyrighted phrases "Wheel of Time" or "the Dragon Reborn."
  • The length should be no more than 60 characters. Less is better!
  • Content must be appropriate for an all-ages audience.

How to Submit

Taglines should be sent via EMAIL to marketing[at]tarvalon.net and externalmarketing[at]tarvalon.net.

All submissions received by the end of day on DECEMBER 8 will be reviewed by a team of staff from the Department of Marketing with input from Execs and the Board, and a final winner will be selected.

The tagline will be featured in TarValon.Net marketing materials and other projects where appropriate.

Legal Disclaimer

TarValon.Net Inc. has, and the owner(s) of the copyrights on the relevant taglines and other works explicitly grants TarValon.Net Inc., the perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable and free right to use, reproduce and (publicly) distribute the aforementioned works, as well as the right to adapt those works if necessary.

And before you ask, yes, we will work to have these flyers available for digital distribution to members in time for the release of AMOL in January. :)

More details on distribution and printing will be released along with the flyers, following the close of the tagline contest in December.
