I suspect how you feel on the issue may tie strongly into how long you have been with the community and how close you were to the inner workings of the site at the time (via position or closeness to someone directly in position, etc)

I'm pretty sure his family suffered as they got new iPhones, a new car, a trip to Disney, etc. Such suffering, very woe.
