Yay! Another Ozarkian! Table Rock is a gorgeous lake, and a good middle ground between Lake of the Ozarks and Bull Shoals, IMO. LotO is WAAAYYY too crowded and Bull Shoals can get eerily quiet and isolating sometimes.
I could definitely do Peoria or KC or the Capitol. Or STL obviously :)...
Nice! My family is from Illinois, but mostly around Granite City. I do have an aunt and some cousins from Mount Vernon though, and some friends that used to live in Madison.
Do you ever come to STL for Tar Valon events? Are there ever any STL events like that?
Thank you Luna! I'm having a blast exploring and finding ways to contribute and just meeting new people....it's not often you find a fabulous group of people like this. :love I have a tendency to jump into things very quickly so I'm trying to hold myself back from applying for membership too...
Oh man, that'd be so cool to hike the AT! I watched a documentary bit the other day about a guy who RAN it and broke the record for completing it. More power to him, but DAMN. That's craziness!!
That is one thing I've never done: hammock camping. And I'd love to try it out! I also want to try out backpacking. Missouri has the Ozark Trail (which is our teeny version of the PCT), and I'd love to be able to hike that before I'm too old and lazy to do so :lol Do you have any favorite...

OH! I've heard such awesome things about James S. A. Corey! I haven't watched the show yet, but I prefer to read the books before watching the adaptation. Have you watched the Expanse show?
Ha! I always refer to it as the "before times". That's so great to find someone from STL! I'd love to get a group together someday and really nerd out :lol
