mIRC has pretty much not changed interface-wise, so you should be fine with it Nebka (it's what I use too!) :)

I'm currently on IRC .. check what server you're connecting to .. try irc.sorcery.net - it could be the one you're trying to connect to is down (I'm currently on aesir.sorcery.net). :cheese
