Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

It was lost by some, but others knew of it. And only the Hundred Companions went crazy instantly. All the other male channelers went crazy slowly over time. I totally agree that the Hundred Companions needed to be taken out.

I've thought of that, as well as Far Madding as a new location. That, and having AS create and tie off shields on the men, then make sure that the shield never fully dissolves. I haven't had any luck convincing anyone else that it would be a good call though :-P

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

I mean just giving them a choice. Either be Gentled like they currently are, or accept the limitation of either living in Far Madding or a bridge town of Tar Valon. It's not like it's taking away anything ... just giving them another option.

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

Especially since it doesn't really have to be a prison camp. Far Madding is a lot like my idea with the bridge towns outside of Tar Valon. It's not like they're prisoners exactly, since they'd choose their confinement, and could live mostly normal lives. That, and with Far Madding, the shield...

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

They wouldn't have to provide for the men ... they could let them live their lives as they wished ... they'd just be limited to not traveling outside of Tar Valon or its bridgetowns. Woman really wouldn't be that much of a concern, considering they already have an entire Ajah devoted solely to...

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

Once the BT was founded, men who channeled are pretty much no longer under the control of the White Tower. I meant instead of Gentling them, essentially take away their ability to channel. Instead of having it completely gone, maybe give them brief opportunities to channel ... just enough to...

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

I'm still not convinced they did the right thing at all. Vendri, it sounds like you're saying they had to Gentle them either before or after they went crazy ... I'm saying that there was the option of shielding them and tying the shield off. At the BT, men were encouraged to channel as much as...

Morality of Gentling... (spoilers for up to book 8)

Yeah, the Gentling sentence is more of a guaranteed Depression for life ... unless you find something to overcome it. Something I always wondered was why they *had* to Gentle men anyways. I mean, they clearly know how to shield a man, and could find a Brown to do the research on how long it...
