No racism, definitely Maria's comment is fully out of context and unfair. Most readers imagined that the Two Rivers characters were white, its not racism. There would have been criticism for Tuon white... in this case too.
Are we wrong? we will never know...
Firstly, I must admit the choice did not meet my expectations. But now... that I have assimilated it, I think that if they play the role of the characters right, the physical appearance will go to the background. ^^
