It's established later that the Oaths decrease an Aes Sedai life expectancy, and I think this was pre-oath. Do we ever find out how long people who can channel live?
Yeah there's a lot about Elayne that made me think "Why?" or sometimes, "That's not how it's supposed to be." She does so many things out of "necessity" and it just annoys me. But yeah, she annoys me. :cheese
I kind of assumed it was the difference between Mississippi Southern Accent vs. Arkansas or Georgia Southern Accent. You know they're southern, but the nuances are quite different and obvious to those who live there.
I actually wondered if she may have learned it from Vandene and Adeleas, or maybe learned it in a book they had somewhere.
Yep, someone needs to write that story...
The thing with Rand killing the woman and guards always kind of confused me, and later made me roll my eyes when he starts reciting all the women who have died.
I really loved that no one seemed upset with Perrin when they had to leave suddenly because he let the man out. They kind of just said, "oh, you let him out? Cool, gotta go!"
Finished Great Hunt earlier today! I thought I was behind but apparently I got ahead somewhere... :scratch
How I didn't get that Ingtar was a Darkfriend on the first read through I'll never know. Or that Lanfear was Selene. I'm going to blame that on being 12. I'm going to blame a lot of stuff...
although, now that I'm reading it again, Rand wasn't really nearby long enough for Machin Shin to sense it and come running. Maybe it sensed Fain? Or Just all the Darkfriends in the place in general? I'm not quite done with this chapter, so :cheese
For some reason, I thought that no one save MAYBE the Dark One knew Lanfear was free, and she wasn't trying to turn Rand to the DO necessarily, just kind of turn him into serving himself
I'm caught up!! :joy Now just need to keep up. So, when Fain did whatever he did to the Trolloc that brought him the news that the Horn was gone, was the Trolloc speaking English, or does Fain speak Trolloc?
