    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

I'd say Thom is the straw that broke the camel's back that caused the civil war, which is very significant. There would have probably been a civil war anyway, but maybe not in such extraordinary fashion. And Thom killed Morgase's husband/Moiraine's cousin (Taringail Damodred) before the books...

I did *not* realize that Thom had killed Galladrian and caused the civil war. Man, do NOT mess with the old gleeman - he's badass! :clap

Possibly, though I think that might be a tad too literal for the Prophecies. Though taking the Sword out of the Stone was a bit literal, come to think of it. I'm at the part in TDR where Mat meets Thom in Tar Valon and Thom talks about killing someone in Cairhien. Did he kill Galladrian?

Another one of the purposes of the Blue Ajah? What do you mean?

If I remember right, when a Tinker girl shows she can channel, that band leaves for Tar Valon asap...

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

True, but there's a very significant difference between Perrin defending Egwene and Rand fighting Ba'alzamon: Perrin doesn't channel, so he was using T'A'R techniques to defend and attack (remember how Bair was just as useful in the T'A'R battle even though she can't channel), whereas Rand was...

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

If Rand is in a circle with 2 women and Callandor and can't seize control of the circle, then yeah, he's pretty much helpless...seems he would effectively *become* a human sa'angreal with only a crystal sword to defend himself against attack (unless the woman who has control of the circle...

I went to a Knife of Dreams signing in San Diego, California, when Robert Jordan was alive. Someone (it may have been Ciaran) asked something along these lines, and RJ replied that the One Power is not accessible to people in all Ages. That said, after Aviendha's vision, I have no doubt that...

Or maybe it's not a flaw...maybe once of the people who made it had a Foretelling and made it that way on purpose. And how might the untainted pool of Saidin in the Eye of the World been made? Moiraine mentioned it was men and women, and that they all died to keep it pure... And it's very...

TGS, chapter 29, Into Bandar Eban: Then he carries it with him until he destroys it. TGS, chapter 31, A Promise to Lews Therin: He destroyed Nattin's Borrow with it, and then when he's at Far Madding... Chapter 44, Scents Unknown: Etc.

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

Actually, it has...that's why Rand carried the male access key around with him all the time until he finally destroyed it atop Dragonmount. With the temptation of the TP on one and and the temptation of the Choden Kal on the other he had the ability to resist both. If he only had one temptation...

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

If Rand is drawing on enough of the TP through Callandor and the DO doesn't anticipate it beforehand, maybe the DO won't be able to cut him off while he's still drawing on it so strongly. (think how pretty much nobody could have cut Egwene off when she was defending the Tower against the...

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

Yeah, I thought that maybe the TP would be involved in the sealing. Gotta find a way to touch the DO without risking him tainting saidin AND saidar. Then everybody would be screwed.

    New Stuff Found upon Re-read

The question is...how does Rand have the ability to channel the True Power? Doesn't the DO have to give permission for people to use the TP? Or could letting Rand channel the TP be part of the DO's plan to turn Rand to the shadow?

I wonder - why do they say Callandor is not a sword? I mean, yeah, it's a sa'angreal and it's crystal, but I doubt it's breakable. It would probably make a serviceable sword. It just has more use as a sa'angreal.

Yeah, the knife-in-the-back, sneak attack thing really isn't the Aiel's style...sneaking in, maybe, but not actual secret assassination.

Couldn't one of the Asha'man Heal some things and leave others untouched? Flinn, maybe?

Actually, you don't have to create an account anywhere to get chapters 1 and 2, and the only reason you need to create an account to get the prologue is because you have to actually purchase it. :cheese Anyway, I just finished TGH, a couple things I noticed: (all these quotes are from chapter...
