I thought of some countries for the Borderlands but I have forgotten them :o Anyway,I think they have a lot of elements from many countries of our world.

The surnames of some Illianers are definitely greek,for example Karentanis,Stepaneos or Boroleos.I believe Illian and Altara have mediterranean elements. The easiest are Andor=England and Cairhien=France.
