We used the term "cottages" because they're more elaborate than a cabin, and offer more than a cabin. Think full size beds, equipped kitchens, living areas, and bathrooms.
Real beds indeed! And it hasn't been mentioned here yet, but the real beds come with kitchens where you can keep your own booze rather than having it in a central location.
I don't really drink, but I know a good bit of the Tower does, and they might like this tidbit of info. :P
Probably closer to Atlanta, to help people out with flight costs. It's cheaper to fly into Atlanta than Chattanooga, typically. :D
