I really am starting to get in the mood for my first ever re-read of the entire series... I think it is almost time :) Once I finish Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir I think I will.
then after that is done and only after, I will watch the tv show. I have nothing but time right now... so I...
Please behave yourself Thaddius, you are a moderator now. I am allowed to misbehave still, but you have to hold yourself to higher standards now. :rofl
Oh my, I never even knew they were considering that, it would have been pure heresy. WoT is amazing to me because it has so many elements, and Thom is one of those that make up the whole.
Thanks on the LOTR clarification, I actually didn't know at all, was just pondering.
Everyone looks great so far. Should be an excellent adventure to watch. I am quite excited for the new Lord of the Rings series Amazon is doing too... seems like both are going to be in production at same... might be fantasy TV overload if they air both at same time... could really hurt WoT...
I think the timing of this WoT casting/series could have huge benefits from LOTR, which Amazon is also making around the same time frame. Amazon is spending over 1 billion dollars on this new LOTR series last I checked, and somethings tells me a lot of the costuming and stuff might trickle down...
Does anyone know if it is required reading of the original books to be accepted as a cast member? Or will some of these people look at the monster size of WoT series and ask their agent, is it ok if I just read a summary and the script?
Normally I wouldn't ask this, but WoW really is a beast of...
I disagree with this, trollocs are stitched together from different animal parts, orcs are nothing like that imo... when I read it, it 'felt' different to me. I would be more scared if I came across a trolloc than an orc.
This is what I was thinking as well.
I am very curious what a Trolloc and Myrdraal will look like, does anyone know if they will be cast with real people and costumed up heavily, or will it be animation?
I actually don't mind Nyaneve and Ewgene the more I look at various images of them. Rand just doesn't do it for me, no idea why, but I will let that one go. I just feel like Perrin is more of a rugged outdoors type, and his casting just doesn't do it for me. Though to be fair, no one would...
Blacksmiths look nothing like this guy. Their shoulders in particular have to be wide with bulk, especially considering the timeline of the series, where its not modern times so no electricity to help through the brutal process of forging.
I won't be watching this series, none of these actors...
I want KJ Apa (Archie Andrews from Netflix Original Riverdale) to play Rand. @Eliza Al'Shaw has shown me the truth in this matter, and I agree, he would make an awesome Rand
Actors who are not well known imo create the best immersion for these large scale productions. If George Clooney walks in one of the scenes for example, its going to break the immersion for me.
