:lol I don't blame you, I'd do the same thing! Maps make me want to know more about the history of the place they represent, though, so I had to ask. And that includes geological as well as political/human history - I like looking at mountain ranges and continent edges and imagining the events...

I love seeing the inaccuracies in old maps. Sometimes the inaccuracies are just due to places that haven't been discovered yet (like Australia, hehe)...
