I think you are spot on (and of course @Ananke Ruadh says it simply and best). Our "who" does evolve. And frankly, I don't think it is always so definitive at any point in time. I know Greens that are PURE GREEN (e.g. @Tree ); but there are other Greens that have yellow, blue, red, white, etc...

I liked both actors very much. The new actor really won me over when he did the scene with the dagger and Padan Fain. I thought that was brilliant. And in my head Canon that’s when he became the new Matt.
