In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Yes, I think it definitely is!! I'm super excited to start The Dragon Reborn, but I think I will hold off until after JCon. I got tackle a few other books in my TBR pile...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Finished the Great Hunt last night. What a wonderful journey. It was curious how Moraine showed up at the very end. In time to witness? It seems so. How long was she there? Clearly she had time to pick through the battle's aftermath (as she raided Turak's treasures...). A day? More? Was she...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

I'm enjoying it with you @Megana Vallentin !! I'm entering Falme with Rand, Mat, Perrin and the Heroes of the Horn!! I love the scene where Hawkwing taps Hurin on the shoulder and suggests that him might become a Hero as well. Reminds me that any one of us might and that Heroes come from us...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Rand's adventure with Selene at the Illuminator's house in Cairhien. Was interesting to see how she keeps pushing him to develop his capacity to access and even use the One Power. Also, the encounter with Thom (the reunion) was an interesting insight into how Thom was really torn between...

Fantastic suggestion! Thank you. I like that.

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Finished Chapters 9-11 in The Great Hunt. Am I speculating that the woman that Uno saw in the windows (that disappeared) is Lanfear? I really feel like it was and that she was following Rand. Also, what was the Flicker / Flicker that Rand experienced? A Bubble of Evil or something else...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Went ahead and got started in The Great Hunt, so much going on. I never understood the schism between Rand, Moraine and eventually, the Tower - but this time I was able to understand how Moraine and Siuan deliberately set it up. I also didn't realize how early on Verin was in this strategy (or...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

I couldn’t wait!! I started The Great Hunt. I loved the Prologue - The Dark Friends’ Social. So interesting to use Bors perspective; I just need to remember that when he becomes more prominent and I wonder what his special mission in Tarabon was???

Checking in with all our readers....I think we have finished EoTW...and it is time for Hunting. @Dianna Melear , erstwhile leader - can we start on the The Great Hunt?

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Finally finished EoTW. And on the last page...I found this nugget as Rand and Egwene talked "Oh, I won't touch it again. Not if I have to cut my hand off, first" (don't worry Rand...that's going to happen!!). And I picked up that Moraine while eavesdropping smiled at his plan to never return...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Finally made it to the Green Man. Fal Dara (and the Padan Fain scene) was exquisite. I particularly enjoyed Loial learning an appreciation for a different kind of aesthetic. And then using his feelings to explore it. But this read thru, I was particularly taken by juxtaposition of the "quiet...

Yes! I hadn't considered that...but I can see it now as well. Very insightful.

Exactly and she managed that change even while scrubbing floors in contrast to Siuan’s perspective. So I saw it as a foreshadowing in that a characters says something cannot happen or be…then it definitely happens. And I agree Ruslan, no disagreements here, just different perspectives...

In which a whole heap of us re-read Wheel of Time

Huzzah! Welcome aboard Mother. I made it to Chapter 31. It was fascinating to re-read the Perrin / Whitecloaks encounter. I hadn't realized that Perrin's admission was what brought the Two Rivers to the attention of the Whitecloaks.
