I guess I look at this from a different perspective but I'm sorry I don't view this Unaffiliated SMs getting second class citizen treatment. Being forced to be a JM was that...this is a much better option. And anyone can apply for a new group. It has been done.

As others have said, you will not be forced to Guest and can stay Unaffiliated as long as you want or forever. It is a way for you to retain your Bond and your rank. If you have any further questions or concerns please let me know.
