In chapter 26, I don't think that was Pedron Niall's Whitecloaks? Was it Padan Fain, or possibly Valda? Who sent those men? I don't think Niall thinks about this the few times we are in his thoughts...
I'm only two thirds in, I think.
Egwene just became Amyrlin. One of my favourite quotes: "She had been prepared for everything, but her list of "everything" had never included this!"
Yeah, I wonder what happened to Liah as well. Why did she leave the group? I also wonder why none of the rest of the group disappear when they spend so long there looking for her.
I also wonder if this is the first time we hear of Rand's "list".
This is in the long list of seemingly random...
Gawyn does have conflicting loyalties though... He actively supports Elaida's faction and leads an active rebellion against the Amyrlin just because he is dissatisfied with Siuan... And even when Egwene, the woman he loves, tells him that Rand didn't kill his mother, he refuses to believe it...
Asha'man means Guardian, like Aes Sedai means servants.
I think the "Great battle done but world not done with battle" part might refer to the Dragon's peace, how fragile it is and how forced...
Even on my first read-through, I don't think I liked him. The revelations of what he had done that we find in the later books is horrifying. I suppose introducing a concept like Turning and then never using it except as a threat wasn't good enough... Taim is crafty, whatever else he is. He...
Considering the name comes from Manetheren, I suspect you are right :D
Good riddance. Note though, that she skins him alive with the Power. Lanfear sometimes seems like just a schemer like Moghedien, but she is just as dangerous if you go against her.
I wonder though, what happens to all the...
You forget Nynaeve is a very uncertain woman. She is harder on herself than anyone else is. She is very self-conscious, and hides her uncertainty with her tongue lashings and easy dismissal of others.
I actually find this to be believable from Nynaeve here. She suffered a large shock and is now afraid to be back in Tel'aran'hriod, but she hates having to admit it. I also love how Elayne reacts to it, by going with her, no teasing or comments, just "I'll prove you are no coward, we'll go...
Yes, that is the inconsistency I mentioned, that Birgitte first calls her Daughter-Heir of Andor, but here doesn't believe it?
And I absolutely blame Nynaeve for the high tempers. Elayne is probably not an innocent "victim" in it, but as you will see in the next chapters, Nynave mentions a bit...
I had never thought about the fact that Galad had a claim to the throne... But he would have one, and stronger than Elayne. Why was that never brought up?
Yeah, I like that chapter too, how Mat knows the right thing to do and does it, even whist complaining all the way :lol
Weiramon is clearly an idiot. I'm almost disappointed that he is also a Darkfriend, I am surprised the Shadow even bothered to accept him...
I pity the men under Meilan, he...
I just finished chapter 47, and there is an inconsistency I noticed. Here, we see Birgitte call Elayne Daughter-Heir of Andor, but in the later chapter, she doesn't believe it. Is there a reason for that, or just a plothole?
I can understand why Cerandin no longer believes it, but Birgitte...
In chapter 30, you can really sense Moiraines desperation to teach him as much as possible. She knows her time with him is running short. :cry
The scene in Seanchan is always funny to read. The Seeker basically ignores Rand and arrests Lady Morsa whilst being trapped with the Power :lol Such...
