We do need to see some bad guys, though it really is only Baalzamon and possibly Fain that is present in the first book. Lanfear could be a possibility though :)

Yeah, I always saw Verin as plump as well. But then, my inner picture of characters are often wrong, and may not even be influenced by the actual descriptions in the book :look
