What are awards...and how do I give them to people (yeah I went to find the moderation stuffs)

Is it me or is there a HUGE space for everyone's posts? If you write a one liner there's a massive blank to scroll through now?

Oh and can I go back to being Mistress of Revels - Britain & Ireland please MoR - B&I is kinda meaningless? Pretty please

The blue chambers title 'had' a smilie in it, now it just has an error :(

Awards are for the future. Marketing finished shiny, pretty badges for Merits, and the Awards bit is a mod we found that we will (in the future, but not now) be adding in after we're more setting in vB.

Valo is working on the theme. I think it looks a little spaced out as well. I know he's uploading more tweaks to it in the very near future!

Titles are a bit different here, so we've had to go in and change a bunch of people's default backend title because it pulls them directly from usergroup name rather than a separate rank field. But I can definitely fix that as soon as I finish replying. :P

I will also look at the Chamber's description.

One more...can we change the date format? For posts over a day old its defaulting to American which for me is backwards...the old site had words not just numbers?

PS how do I get threads to send me emails as this didn't? I just saw you in Blue and thought you might be here too...

I changed the date format; it should now read in the format of August 20, 2012. Bear in mind it will just say "Today" for today and "Yesterday" for yesterday, but for any days prior to that, it will appear with the full month.

If you go to Settings > General Settings (top upper right hand corner), then scroll down to Default Subscription Mode - you can handle email stuff there.

Is there a way to bookmark favorite forums like we could previously?

You can subscribe to specific forums, if that's what you mean? From the main Forum listing, you should see a green circle with a check mark on it to the far right of the forum title. Use this to subscribe to a particular forum.

Drupal and phpBB3 were separate, so using Drupal to somehow bookmark phpBB3 would have been an astounding feat of magic. :P

So, similar to the current/old boards where on the left hand navigation there is a module for Favorites where forums can be bookmarked. This allows one to navigate between forums without the quick nav at the bottom of posts and is not a subscription feature. I believe this is what Karassa was asking about.

Oooh, I see, I see. I never paid attention to that. :look:

Yes, that would be a Drupal feature. You could always customize a list in your own browser's bookmarks, but after a cursory check there is not an equivalent in vBulletin.

drats. ok.

Can anyone use those icons when starting a new thread or just more admin-y types? I mean the thread icons such as the !, the ? the document, thumbs up and thumbs down.... Not sure if it's a good idea to give people free rein with those...

Eh, it's just a clue to what kind of thread it is? I don't see what it hurts.

I've got invisible mode on, but I'm still shown as online in the who's online list/shown as browsing xxx forum. My name has a * after, though. Does this mean only I can see my online status or something? :look:

The asterisk does mean you are invisible to everyone. The exception to that is Super Moderators (hi!) who see everyone.

Though when I click on Loi's avatar it takes me straight to her "account", showing me all of her posts (except those I don't have permission to see of course). That seems over the top, on the old boards we had at least to click one more time if we desperately wanted to see someone's posts.

So... join dates. I just noticed that Serenla's join date was her actual Tower join date (August 2004), is it possible to specify that anywhere in your profile, or do you need to have an administrator do it? Because I think that would be incredibly nifty to see when someone joined the Tower right from their post.

Also, regarding subjects for responses. It was super-helpful on the old boards where the default subject was "Re: Thread Topic", because going through the posts, I could easily remember which thread I'm in. The way I browse the forums is to open up a forum and ctrl+click on every thread I find interesting, but on the new boards I've had to check what thread I'm looking at by scrolling to the top, which has been a bit of an inconvenience.

Obviously, neither of these are a big deal, so take your time. I know there are much more important things to work out. :hug
