Wow!!!!!!!!! This is fantastic news!!!!!!!!! Great job everyone, to those who gave and those who promoted the event, those who hosted and to everyone on the site for making TV.net a wonderful place to be!!!!!!!!1
I've drawn names for prizes, but am holding off on announcing until we confirm something. There might be an adjustment to the VIP cocktail hour prize that affects the number of people who end up winning it. Trust me though....it's worth the wait.
I hope to have all this settled by next week! :joy
And the freeweek will come....well, you'll know once it hits you. Should be happening later this month.
A free week is a time when we generally relax the rules a bit and have some fun. These often correspond to times when the Online Events team plans something special for a holiday. Sometimes, moreso in the past than now, people also get access to forums they normally wouldn't be able to post in.
This free week is going to be a bit of a different event, since it's for the fundraiser. You'll see.
It's a week where we are allowed to rum amok! I'm pretty sure someone will try to blow up the Tower and at least one person will paint it pink. It's time to have fun! Novices and recruits are allowed in the city (usually) and rank can go right out the window in a lot of ways!
Free weeks here are like Free Days in the books. It's a day (or in this case, a week ) where we drop a lot of the rules (especially those governing Jr. Member behavior and interaction) and allow ourselves to enjoy being really, really silly. They're a lot of fun.
Thank you, everyone!!! The donors, the people who worked on the fundraiser, the cheerleaders, the people who matched gifts, and those who used coorporate matched giving to assist our community. It goes without saying that I am exceptionally proud to be counted among you (Yes! That includes you, $5 donor!).
I am glad that my internet home doesn't have ads. Anywhere. I am proud that my community doesn't grant special access or privildges based on anything other than personal giving and merit, and that it recognizes that such giving doesn't only come in a financial form. I am beyond proud that people recognize that a lot of the young talent here is not able to financially contribute, but values their contributions and want to make sure that they are able to still participate without having to pay a fee. I'm am incredibly proud about all of the members who joined us as people who could not contribute who made a special effort to send something in.
You are all incredibly awesome. And you are, most definately, *my* thank you gift.
