This doesn't have to be the culture of the country you're from, as in my own America there are multitudes of cultures so it's hard to define an "American" culture, but if you personally were in Randlands world, which country do you see yourself being from either based on how you were raised or how you personally live your life? Which Randland culture fits most with your own personal style of living?
For me, it would be Arafel. Based on how my siblings and I were brought up, we would definitely be in the Borderlands, we were raised to pull our own weight around the house regardless of gender (I had to stack and chop wood along with my brothers and they had to do the dishes and clean the house along with me) and you didn't cry unless you wanted someone to give you a reason to cry complaining was also out of the question, when bad things happened you adapted because laying down and dying wasn't an option.
I narrowed it down to Arafel after reading physical descriptions of the typical Arafellian, medium to tall build, medium to light hair and eyes, and the bells cinched it
(although we do have a rough sense of humor like an Aiel so I guess that would be a second choice )
How about you? Some good references are the Wheel of Time role playing book, wheel of time wikis and the World of the Wheel of Time encyclopedia type book
