This is my second avatar. My first one was a woman silhouetted against a sunset. Faceless. Not me. I needed a face. I wanted an image I didn't have to ask permission to use and I wanted something to reflect something about me. After much searching, I found this image. She's a painting called "Jewish Woman From Tangiers" by Charles Landelle. Her hair is very similar to mine (those who have met me can attest) and I think some of her facial features are, too. I liked that this was a painting of a Jewish woman and reflected her as she was. Hubby cropped her a little bit and fixed a little bit (she looks a little cold in the original painting.
