Yes, the spoiler tags will be perfect! I wasn't able to find the book at my campus bookstore but think I might make time to go to Chapters tonight. I was going to buy it on my kindle but I have the feeling this will be a book I'll want to read in physical copy
Trilogy acquired. I started reading tonight and am just starting chapter 2.
I’m really intrigued by the magic system so far. And I’m glad that it looks like Kelsier pops up again in chapter 2. While I definitely don’t mind prologues such as in EotW where the relevancy of the prologue isn’t immediately obvious, I like Kelsier so far and am glad that I’ll get to learn more about him so soon.
I don't know if this is something other people have experienced with Audible, the way Brandon lays out his books causes many "chapter" breaks in the download. This means I can't easily stick to the schedule and will probably over run allot I won't know what chapter I'm on until they announce it. . .
I'm loving it so far, just done chapter 2, straight into the action :ha
I accidentally already saw a big spoiler I'm trying to be good about not peeking ahead. I don't always have a lot of self control when it comes to plot except for HP and WoT, where I was reading with a sheet of paper over the opposite page at times I was so afraid of spoilers I've been pretty good with this one so far and wasn't even really actively looking but out of habit was rifling through the pages near the end.
I'm really liking the set up--seems like it's going to be an interesting group of peole trying to pull off something impossible. I'm big on "found family" tropes and an hoping there'll be that kind of vibe with the group.
"Found family" is absolutely a theme, here. This group has some of my favorite characters, every. Kel and Vin are two of them. Really, I love all of them for different reasons.
Sanderson really sold the book as a Fantasy Heist novel. That's not a spoiler, either. I watched a video of him giving a description of his book to new readers and it was a really neat concept that made me pick it up
I especially like how Vin just cannot believe that the team trusts each other that well. And I am so sad when I read how she is just takes it for granted that siblings beat each other up
