Marshmallows? :D

I was camping the last three days (not really camping, actually, we had real beds so it does not count...) and we had a nice bbq but sadly no mm...

But a question came up and I'd like to ask you as well: did you ever eat insects? Roasted over fire or raw - both count

I'm an awful person who likes holding the marshmallows in the fire until they burn. Completely. :indifferent:

I don't eat them, either.

What, seriously? :eek DO IT. Do it now because one day you might get sick and never be able to again. :look:

And there are so many different marshmallow-roasting techniques that you have to find your favourite. For example:
- Slightly toasty on the outside but still white or very light brown, still marshmallowy in the middle
- Very toasty on the outside, gooey in the middle
- Caught on fire and burned to a crisp on the outside, gooey in the middle
- Caught on fire and burned to a crisp on the outside, the burned outside removed, the remains toasted into caramel... etc.

But we do not quite have the same marshmallows the way you do in Australia or America or Canada. D: That and I'm not too familiar with camping, myself, having only been several times as a very young child. :scratch

Someone take me camping!

I do this one. Char, remove black marshmallowy carapace, devour, char the soft, white inside, remove the new black outside, and continue until the marshmallow is completely consumed.
Unless I'm making smores. Then I toast over dim coals far from flames so the whole thing gets as melty as possible.

You don't have random bonfire parties in people's backyards over there? Maybe you should start a trend!

Nah, we have barbecues, instead. :pleased-1: Since I live smack dab in the middle of the capital city, there aren't many people here living in houses, mainly apartments. I don't think a balcony bonfire would be appreciated. Even if I do try to bribe them with delicious marshmallows. :look:

We have a fire almost every weekend! I couldn't do without a space to sit outside and drink beers :pleased-1:

I like my marshmallows roasted over the coals, not the flames, until they are golden brown all over on the outside and gooey on the inside.

Berior, to answer your question, the only times I've eaten bugs is when riding and they get in the way and I accidentally swallow them...

Haha, I guess that counts.

As a kid I once caught grasshoppers with my friends, roasted the over the fire and ate them. I think it was some kind of challenge... The story came up when we were discussing human nutrition at the camping trip with my class xD

I've never liked s'mores. I always make a mess and the payoff is never worth the hassle. :look: And even when I roast marshmallows, I don't eat very many... Personally, I like marshmallows after you've taken them out of the package and let them air out for a few days. They get kinda chewy and less gooey. :pleased-1:
