Today is my 11-year Tar Valon-iversary. And I've been an awful lurker for the last few years, since the people I'm friends with here I also know on Facebook and IRL so I just got really comfy with my people I've known forever and occasionally show up to a party if it's in driving distance.

And that's sad.


So now I wanna make *new* friends and meet people who make me want to keep coming back and checking the boards because they're my friends and I care about them and stuff. So hi.

I've been doing STUFF!

I'm a children's librarian now, which is what I've wanted for a long time. I've been doing that for a year, and while I still haven't tempted any high schoolers into the library, I have become a science teacher, which is not what I expected. But I love it.

Also, I got married about 6 weeks ago, and that took up a lot of my time. But now it's over, and I'm not making any decisions ever again. (Seriously, weddings are dumb; don't do them unless you REALLY care about what shape you want the napkins folded in, because someone WILL expect you to have an opinion on it.) But I have a husband now, and he's awesome, and he was totally worth having to explain to my best friend that it's HER hair, and she can cut it if she wants whether or not I'm getting married.

So....yeah. I'm still doing the Irish dance thing. I'm headed to Germany in the spring for WIDA World Championships, which is super exciting! I just need to get healthy enough to get back to class. I've been sick all of 2015.

I'm also in the process of converting to Judaism, which is a really fascinating journey for me.

And that is all wonderful news!! I'm so glad you are doing so well!! Congratulations on getting married!! And of course on becoming a librarian and science teacher. It's always nice when you manage to end up in a job that you love.

The science teacher part is unofficial - I haven't got a certification or anything. I just started a nonfiction storytime that morphed into a weekly science experimentation thingy for pre-K and kindergarten because that's what people showed up for. We're currently doing chemical reactions. The librarian thingy has been for a few years now, though!
