Well if you mean the Console/PC game they said they were going to make. That project is dead. REG apparently thought a Farmville style IOS/Andriod (Mobile Phone) game was the way to go. "The Aiel War" was announced on Kickstarter as the first game to be made. It would be producted by Jet Set Games with REG acting as ... um .. well they were involved .. somehow.. Anyway the Kickstarter asked for $450,000 in funding. According to the Kickstarter the game would be a free to play "Social" game. It would also have a in game store where you spend REAL money for items game upgrades and other things. ... The Kickstarter never got above $3,000 in funding. REG pulled it before the final day and announced they would relaunch it in a few months when they had actual game play footage to show off.

I would like to note that 99% of the feedback they recieved on the game was negative. People went as far as to actually pledge $1.00 just to post a comment on the Kickstarter Comment page for the game to tell REE/REG how disapointed they were in REG with going Mobile instead of making the game they had promised. I was one of those who told them where they could stick their IOS/Andriod game.

The Wheel Of Time isn't a property that lends its self to casual social gaming. Mobile games, at least those that are popular and that make money are ones people can pick up play for a few minutes and then put down when their drive thu order is ready or when their on the potty or something. Not something WoT lends its self to. And the inclusion of a Micro-Transaction store in the game for people to spend real world money is insane.

I personally don't own a IOS or Andriod device. This game should it ever get finished and relased isn't enough to make me buy one. I guess I'm just a old fuddy duddy, but I use my phone as a phone and not a Social Media and Gaming device. If I want to play a game I have PC's and my PS3 for that. I'm a Gamer, all my friends are gamers. None of use play Mobile games because when were out and about we are doing things. We game with PWNAGE on the mind. Lets see a mobile game give you the satification of a round of Team Fortress 2 or Left4Dead as you would get on a PC. Lets see a Mobile game deliver the kind of story telling and emerision as you get from Mass Effect or even a Final Fantasy Game. I think you would be seriously hard pressed to find a mobile game, and I mean a game designed for mobile devices not one ported over, that can deliver even a fraction of what PC and Console games deliver.

Sorry that beecame a rant but REE/REG really ticked me off with this crap idea. I fully support the idea of them either returning all rights to WoT they hold to Harriet or them selling those rights to someone who will actully produce something that will be well recieved by both fans as well as the gaming community at large.

Their rights will expire in a few years. We'll see what happens then.

What happened was this:

Red Eagle proposed some sort of chat or Q&A session with our members. I agreed that a Q&A session would probably help some of our members get a better sense of the WoT game project.

I asked for questions from our members here on the boards and also on our social media channels. No questions were asked in response to my call for more questions. What we had to go on were the initial questions that arose in the original announcement thread in Site Announcements. So I compiled all of those questions, added a few that I thought might interest people, and emailed that list to our contact at Red Eagle. The process was slowed a bit due to our site migration and Dragon*Con. I received a reply from Red Eagle that they were interested in waiting for more questions. I had no further questions to send them. And then I never heard back from Red Eagle (and still have not.) So this ended with them having a full list of questions from our members, for which I never received Red Eagle's responses.

We can email them to try and get some updates, but I suspect the lack of response is related to the project essentially shutting down on Kickstarter.

Appreciate the update Kytheria Sedai. It really just sounds like the usual sketch way of going about everything that REE has. If they had more things that they wanted to talk about, they simply could have added more at the end of the Q&A. Otherwise, they could've given us answers, then answered more later. Never have I been more disappointed in a company than with them ... especially with all the opportunities they've been given.

Yeah, it is pretty disappointing. They were extremely forthcoming with information at first; almost overwhelming me with emails about their releases and such. It was actually rather over the top. Then... nothing. I'll keep people posted if I hear anything else from them soon, though (or Mother will, I'm sure).
