... is the first sentence of my book. Hello all! I am brand new to this site/forum, but have been very much interested in fantasy literature since 2003. I had tried reading fantasy novels before that, but was unable to find any that were worth reading. I have since found, let's say "two entire milk crates" worth of fantasy literature that I have deemed to be real envelope pushers for the genre and for the written language. Some of those books are: Wheel Of Time (the one I've most recently started!), A Song Of Fire And Ice series by George RR Martin, The RainWild Chronicles by Robin Hobb, Wild Cards anthology series (more about deformed superheroes than elves and magic, but still fantastical nonetheless) edited by George RR Martin and Melinda Snodgrass, anything by Neil Gaiman (even his children's books) and of course the Dragonlance books by various authors. I'm a huge fan of books on the epic scale, dragons of course and strong female characters. As of 2014, I am writing my first fantasy book. I had been talking about it for years and then one day decided to make it happen and: bought a new laptop, Final Draft software and changed careers. Before this introduction becomes a novel or novella itself, I would just like everyone to know that while I am a huge introvert I am quite social online (especially on Twitter @EpicFantasyBlog) and look forward to chatting with you. Thank you for reading.
