I had several test blasting rods. This one i liked the best. The part of the description i remember most about it was that he could use it like a club if he needed to so that is why i went with the length i did.Nice! That looks like a nice, sturdy staff. I always imagined the blasting rod much shorter than that.
I really like this picture. Good composition.
Small Favor describes the blasting rod as "a simple wooden rod, a couple of feet long, heavily carved with sigils and runes. There's also "a length of wood a little longer than my forearm, carved over with runes and sigils" in Death Masks. In Fool Moon, it's heavy enough to be swung like a baseball bat, though that could just imply strong rather than thick.
