Well, this has been a tumultuous few weeks for Exec- and the time has come to thank another one of my Directors for all she has done for us. Calypsa Sedai has decided it's time to step down as our Director of Administration and take a well deserved break- she has been absolutely wonderful in this role and has poured a great deal of her spirit into this department, for which we are all incredibly grateful for. Caly, you are amazing- it won't be the same without you in the team!
You all know what that means- we'll be looking to hire a new Director of Administration. Here's the details:
Overview
The Director of Administration is an Executive level position with a primary focus on the professional and business aspects of our organization. In this position you will work closely with the Amyrlin, Shatayan and Keeper, as well as the other Directors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide advice to the Officers group (Amyrlin, Keeper, Shatayan and Archivist)
- Compile the annual report
- Facilitating and compiling the annual membership survey and other surveys as required
- Handling legal inquiries, including research for allowed types of fundraising at our events and contract review
- Provide advice regarding human resources concerns; maintain confidential applicant tracking database
- Managing all other needs of the Department as they arise
Requirements
- Be a senior member in good standing, preferably for at least 1 year.
- Experience in business, human resources or legal fields
- Be willing and able to spend approximately 10 hours a week handling Department issues. This is an estimate. Some weeks are less, some are more, depending on the time of year.
- Be extremely organized.
- Be able to employ tact and diplomacy, even with people you may not necessarily agree with.
- Able to comfortably and professionally represent our organization to outside groups, such as state regulatory bodies.
- Be a self-starter.
* Prior service in this department is a bonus but is not required
