So what was your favorite part about all the Roleplaying? I used to remember just brainstorming all throughout the day, the wait time for a response was pretty much the best part for me, collaborating on a broad plot, drawing others unknowingly or knowingly into the fray.
It's hard to really pick out, Corrine, but I think it boils down to these two things:
1. Character creation: I am all about characters - making them, fleshing them out, making them real people. Roleplaying always gave me lots of opportunities to try out things that might be, for me personally, out of character without someone trying to have me committed
2. Collaboration: I don't write nearly as well on my own as I do with a partner in crime. Partly because of motivation, partly because other people push me to be better than I am solo, and partly because I love to be surprised by the other person writing something unexpected.
Saowynn, I want to create an underground safehouse, using the WOT series, as a real-life LARP, that would eventually become self-sustained where victims of domestic abuse can hide in plain site, and not be subjected to abuse. I thought it would be great to utilize the entire series, since there are so many options, available. You know, the Ail are desert people, 'wetlanders', Aes Sedai, etc. I thought it'd be fun to have a real life Tower for novices to come, and for people to gather, year-round. Eventually have something along the lines of Williamsburg, VA...a tall order, but a realistic one A place where therapists, peer counselors, librarians, etc...and well, I'm mapping it out, in my head..lol.
LOL, no. I can point out all of the homeless and domestic violence shelters, and they aren't. This at least is something that people can feel like they contribute, while not feeling 'homeless', or a burden to society. It also gives me a place to go and do research for my classes . Of course, this is something years down the road. In the beginning, it'll probably be a broom closet
Many a great thing to have risen from the ashes of a lowly broom closet. Just look at Harry Potter! But seriously, thats a pretty unique idea. Talking about it is the first step to actualization after all
