Why is it always VIII and X, never IX? :(

Ah well, much bigger fan of Kingdom Hearts and over-dressing. Welcome! Were you a member here before? The name is familiar.

Kiana, I'm going to blame three things for the most part for that: first and foremost the release date (VIII and X were both released for the console that was current at the time, while IX came out for PS1 after the PS2 was released, thus not catching the eye of many "latest and greatest" gamers), secondly the minigame design, and thirdly strategy - specifically the fact that IX is a lot more luck based than any of the other recent FF (except perhaps XIII, but I've not tried that one).

I did like IX though. I should get it again at some point for my PS3 via PSN so I can finally finish it :)

Hi Nihilo, I'm also new to Tar Valon. Welcome to us both :rofl

I too love Kingdom Hearts and FF8. The latter I completed on the PC (yes, it was available for the PC!) and I do keep meaning to go back and play it again... I've enjoyed all the other FF games, but FF8 was my first and I think that's why I hold such affection for it. Plus Squall was just awesome. Kingdom Hearts, though, I got as far as a point where you had a multi-stage battle which started on a beach, then you jumped through a barrier and had to fight without Donald and Goofy. If you died there, you had to restart from the first battle. I just got so frustrated that I gave up in the end. Apparently Kingdom Hearts 2 is very good, but I've never tried it!
