As I'm reading through these books for the second time I'm noticing a lot of humorous moments I either don't remember from before, or I just didn't think were as funny the first time around. I previously read through Book 10 about 10 years ago before I decided I wanted to wait for the series to be complete and start over.
Anyway, I wanted to know what moments other people thought were funny as they read. I know everyone has a different sense of humor, and I find that when someone points out something funny I can usually easily laugh at it, too.
Here are a couple things I've laughed at so far (I'm almost done with TDR):
-Anytime someone "curses" or uses "foul language." This is an obvious one, and there are many examples. Pretty much anything Uno says qualifies, especially when he calls someone a "bloody goat-kissing milk-drinker" in TGH. I don't remember the exact quote offhand (I'm at work right now and the boss isn't looking so I'm posting this:8)).
-Another one is in the middle of TDR, when three of the main story arcs involve everyone being on a different ship at the same time. Mat and Thom sailing from Tar Valon on their way to Caemlyn; Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elayne on their way to Tear; and Moiraine, Lan, Perrin, and Zarine sailing to Illian. I don't know why this struck me as funny, but I remember laughing and thinking, "Why is everyone on a damned boat?!"
-Also, when Zarine says her name is Mandarb, the same name as Lan's horse- that cracked me up!:rofl
There are quite a few more, too! I know these books aren't really supposed to be comedies, but there are definitely moments of comic relief. What are some of the things that made you laugh in books 1 - 4? Sometimes the more subtle, the better!
